The election in Malviya Nagar saw a three-way battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress. The AAP has held this seat for over a decade, with Somnath Bharti winning in the last three elections.
This time, Bharti contested once again, facing Satish Upadhyay from BJP and Jitendra Kumar Kochar from Congress.

- 2020 Elections: Bharti won with 57.97% of the vote, securing 52,043 votes. He defeated BJP’s Shailender Singh, who got 33,899 votes (37.76%).
- 2015 Elections: Bharti secured 51,196 votes, defeating BJP’s Nandani Sharma, who got 35,299 votes.
- 2013 Elections: Bharti won for the first time, establishing AAP’s presence in Malviya Nagar.
Will AAP hold the seat?
With a strong past performance, AAP hopes to retain Malviya Nagar. However, BJP and Congress are aiming for an upset. The results on 8 February will decide whether Bharti continues his winning streak or if a new leader emerges for Malviya Nagar.
