Mizoram expressing solidarity with the affected Kuki people of Manipur, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh asked the Mizoram chief minister not to interfere in the internal affairs of another state. He said that the state government will identify the illegal immigrants and drive them out of the state and the government would not succumb to any threat. Singh while practicing on the occasion of Kargil Diwas on Wednesday said that the state government is against the illegal immigrants and that his government is not against the Kuki community, who has been residing in the state for a long time.
Singh said that the crisis in the state is due to those who want to disturb peaceful coexistence in the state. “Problem started when the government started acting against the illegal drug cartel". He said that the government would not succumb to any threat and will protect the integrity of the state.
Biren reiterated that there cannot be «separate administration», and strongly condemned the use of abusive words against him in a solidarity rally held at Mizoram on Tuesday. The rally was attended by Mizoram chief minister Zoramthang. He asked Zoramthanga not to interfere in the internal affairs of another state.
