A delegation of 21 MPs visited Manipur and met the victims of the violence and assured help. The 90 days violence so far has claimed 150 lives and displaced 57,000 people across the State. Amid the demands for removal of Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh, former CRPF DG Kuldiep Singh was sent as security advisor and deployed 124 companies of CAPFs and 184 columns of Army and Assam Rifles.
Home minister Amit Shah visited Manipur in June where he reached out to both the communities and appealed for peace and normalcy.
