Marvel Cosmic Invasion game announced, to release on all major platforms
Marvel Cosmic Invasion dropping soon. The game was announced during the Nintendo March 2025 Direct on Thursday, March 27. Developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, it presents Marvel’s iconic superheroes in a retro beat ‘em up and is reminiscent of the ‘90s arcade classics.
The game is set for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox later this year. It features hand-drawn animation inspired by Marvel’s 1990s comic book art style.
According to Gamesrader, players can expect fast-paced action with a roster that includes superheroes like Wolverine, Captain America, Spider-Man, Storm, Venom, Phyla-Vell, and Nova.
Battle against Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave
The game’s story pits the heroes of the Earth against the cosmic villain Annihilus who has launched an attack across the galaxy. Players will have to fight their way from New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone to stop the reign of destruction, IGN reported.
A key gameplay mechanic is the Cosmic Swap system. This apparently allows the players to control two characters at once and switch between them mid-battle. The feature also enhances combat strategy by enabling unique team-ups and special attacks.
