Meta is also one of the companies in the AI race, and is even planning on introducing AI-based workforce for its future coding and automation, which is claimed to be even more adept than humans. Mark Zuckerberg has already said that Meta will start automating the work of midlevel software engineers this year, which could mean bad news for the tech industry's job data as this indicates a possible layoff.
However, there are still no crisis management communication from Meta about any layoffs that could be incoming. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Meta may eventually outsource all coding on its apps to AI, something that can happen over the course of the next couple of years.
If midlevel software engineers are slashed from the company hierarchy and AI is introduced in their place, the company will be able to save millions in capital as midlevel software engineers at the company now earn close to mid-six figures in total compensation.
