According to details shared by one of Perry's friends Athenna Crosby in an interview, the 'Friends' actors were eager to make a film about his life. She also said not only Perry was eager but also knew who he wanted to play him. Athenna was the last person who met Perry and also has lunch with the actor the day before his shocking death.
Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Crosby said, that the actor expressed his desire to create a film centred around his own life. Further, Crosby also revealed the name of the star whom Perry wanted to play him.
According to Athenna Crosby, Perry wanted Zac Efron to play him as a younger version [of himself] and that he was going to ask him soon to do that. She further added that the 'Friends' actor had previously worked with Efron in a movie together, and he really admired Efron's work. Back in 2009, Perry and Efron starred together in 17 Again, where Efron played a younger version of Perry's character Mike O'Connell. Further, the movie marked Perry's final film role.
