Mojang, the creators of Minecraft, rolled out Update 1.20 in June 2023. It introduced new mobs, an archaeology system, armor trims for customization, and the Cherry Blossoms biome. Now, players eagerly await details about what's next in Update 1.21, hoping to get more information during this year's Minecraft Live event as was the case with 1.20 in Minecraft Live 2022.
Thankfully, the event is just around the corner, and here's what we know about Minecraft Live 2023.
Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft Live will return this fall on Sunday, October 15, promising a «bigger and blockier» event. You can watch it live on Minecraft's official YouTube channel or Minecraft.net, starting at 1:00 PM EDT / 6:00 PM BST.
Similar to Minecraft Live 2022, this year's mob vote allows the community to choose the new mob for the next major update. Last year, the sniffer won. In 2023, players will choose from three different mob ideas.
The voting period is longer this time, running from Friday, October 13 at 1:00 PM EDT until Sunday, October 15 at 1:15 PM EDT, giving fans 48 hours and 15 minutes to decide.
Players can cast their votes in Minecraft. Signing onto the live event server in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is one way. You can also vote via Minecraft.net or the Minecraft Launcher.
Regarding which mobs are available for selection, Mojang will reveal that information in early October, possibly through blog posts on the official website.
