MLB 2025 Opening Day: Here’s where you can watch Major League Baseball games for free
The season officially began this year with the games played between Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs on March 18 and 19 at Japan's Tokyo Dome.
How to watch 2025 MLB Opening Day on TV?
You can catch the live action of MLB Opening Day 2025 on TV by tuning in to a number of national channels or a local broadcast, depending on which games will be aired nationally. Those games that will be broadcast by nationally available TV channels, won't be available on local outlets.
ESPN will air the Brewers vs Yankees Opening Day match at 03:05 pm (ET). The channel will then air the Dodgers vs Tigers game at 7:10 pm (ET). For the 2025 Opening Day, the MLB network will broadcast the matches between the Cubs and the Diamondbacks, and the Athletics and the Mariners in the evening. Select games will also be broadcast on the Fox network.

Getting a subscription for MLB.tv will allow you to watch the out-of-market fixtures of your favourite teams. A subscription for only the matches of the teams you follow will cost you a minimum of $20 for one month. However, in case you don't have a favourite side and are just crazy about baseball, you can go for a subscription reportedly starting at $30 per month.
MLB.tv will stream all the games that will be aired on MLB and ESPN. The streaming service, however, will only stream the fixtures that won't be under blackout restrictions.
