New Delhi (India), October 16: Online security threats continue to multiply and grow more complex each day, presenting an increasing challenge for IT security and risk management leaders. Even a minor security breach can have severe consequences, ranging from hefty fines to damage to reputation, loss of customers, and disruption of business partnerships. In PwC's annual Global Digital Trust Insights–India edition, 89% of Indian business executives said their organization's cybersecurity team detected a significant cyber threat to business and prevented it from affecting their operations, as against 70% globally.
A report by Tenable found that India accounted for 20% of all records exposed due to data breaches in 2022, giving the country the mortifying position of having the second-most tech exposure breaches last year. According to Shailendra Shyam Sahasrabudhe, Country Manager, India of Cymulate, “Prioritisation of updates, patches, and remediations of systems and regions of infrastructure most likely to be targeted by examining infrastructure and platforms through the eyes of an attacker. By doing so, the organization's general resistance to attack is boosted, and the workload of defensive specialists who could be trying to solve everything at once is lessened. Cybersecurity experts of various skill levels may easily visualise the environment from an attacker's perspective thanks to platforms like Attack Surface Management and Breach and Attack Simulation tools." he pointed out.
