Nigel Farage has landed himself in legal trouble with NatWest Group and its former executive, aiming to claim millions in damages regarding the debanking scandal that evolved into a crisis for the state-backed lender. According to the report, the former UKIP leader is seeking millions of pounds in damages from the group after the entire fiasco. Farage's lawyers are expected to send the initial legal letters during the course of next week.
According to the source, Farage is expected to take a total sum worth millions of pounds for damage that has been made to his reputation.
In a statement that has been issued to Sky News, Mr Farage said that the NatWest group and its former CEO, Dame Alison Rose, have caused huge damage to his reputation because of the lies they have spoken. He also added that the group and Alison must be held accountable for their lies and the unjust debanking of tens of thousands of innocent people.
Further, days after the news of NatWest officially confirmed that the bulk of Dame Alison's potential £10m-plus severance package surfaced online, the claims of Mr Farage filling also surfaced. Once the bank declared that Dame Alison Rose was not a «good leaver», more than £7.5m of share awards and bonuses were called off.
It has also been said that 'no finding of misconduct' against Dame Alison Rose was found.
As a result, it made her eligible to receive approximately £3.2m during her 12-month notice period. However, the group confirmed that its former boss will not be getting share awards worth £4.7m. Also, she has to forgo her bonus and variable remuneration for 2023, which would have been £2.9m.
