AAP leader and MLA Amanatullah Khan has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner after an FIR was registered against him for allegedly leading an attack on a police team in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, news agency ANI reported.
In his letter, Khan stated, «I am in my assembly constituency, I have not fled anywhere. Some Delhi Police officials are implicating me in a false case. The person they came to arrest has already secured bail. When he showed his papers, the police, to cover up their mistake, falsely implicated me.»
Meanwhile, Delhi Police has launched a search operation to locate Khan.
An FIR has been registered against Khan for allegedly manhandling and threatening the police, as well as obstructing them from performing their duty. The case has been filed under sections 221, 121(1), 132, 191(2), 190, 263(b), 351(3), and 111 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
The altercation occurred on February 10 around 3 PM when a Delhi Police Crime Branch team went to Jogabai Extension, Jamia Nagar, to arrest Shavez Khan, an accused in a 2018 attempted murder case.
