Nathan Mahoney, a 32-year-old employee, was identified as the suspect. Police apprehended him shortly after the attack. He now faces charges of assault with intent to murder and fleeing a police officer. Mahoney is being held on bonds of $500,000 and $1,000 for the respective charges.
Deputy Police Chief Greg Poulson stated that authorities are examining Mahoney's social and electronic records to understand the motive. Investigators consider the possibility of this being a «copycat» incident, inspired by the recent killing of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson.
