Light to moderate rain along with thundershowers are very likely in a few districts of Odisha, according to the IMD forecast. In addition to Odisha, the IMD has also issued an alert for isolated moderate to extreme rainfall in Kerala from July 4 to July 9.

Furthermore, a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal and its surrounding regions has now shifted to the West-central Bay of Bengal adjacent to the North Andhra Pradesh coast. The circulation extends between 1.5 km to 7.6 km above mean sea level and tilts south-westwards with height, according to the IMD.
Due to the rainfall alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several states have taken the precautionary measure of closing schools and colleges.
