As soon as reports of this lawsuit surfaced, panic has ensued on social media, with many users questioning the legitimacy of the lawsuit, while others are pondering the risks listed in it, that include birth defects, increased risk of prostate, kidney and testicular cancer and fertility problems, according to a Daily Mail UK report.

This lawsuit stems from a recent study on 22 watch bands from various companies in the US, and surprisingly 15 of them contained harmful PFAS chemicals, exposure to which can cause serious health issues. Among these watches, some were made by Apple.
Meanwhile, Apple has been claiming that its products are manufactured using fluoroelastomer, which is a synthetic rubber that contains fluorine. Howver, the lawsuit challenges this logis, while stating that the tech giant hid the fact that the synthetic rubber actually contained PFAS within all other manufacturing materials.
