The comedian, who was announcing the best documentary feature film, when he made a joke about the Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett’s hair. This made the actor go to the stage and slap him. This stunt made the AMPAS ban Smith for ten years!
‘Brokeback Mountain’s Snub
Ang Lee’s period drama about a pair of cowboys, who eventually become a pair of star-crossed lovers, was poised to become the biggest winner in the 2006 Academy Awards. However, the magnum opus lost out to Paul Higgin’s crime drama ‘Crash’, despite stealing the show at the Golden Globes and BAFTAS earlier.
