Bangladesh had secured a commanding 10-wicket win in the first Test, also held in Rawalpindi last month, marking their first-ever victory over Pakistan in 14 attempts.
Pacemen Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana put Bangladesh on the path to victory with a dominant bowling performance on the fourth day of the second Test in Rawalpindi. The duo shared nine wickets between them, with Hasan taking 5-43 and Nahid adding 4-44—both career-best figures—as Pakistan was bowled out for 172 in their second innings. This left Bangladesh with a target of 185 to clinch a 2-0 series win.
Pakistan had resumed their second innings at 9-2 and managed to reach 47-2 in the first 10 overs of the day. However, Bangladesh quickly turned the tide, with a devastating spell of fast bowling. Nahid struck first, dismissing Shan Masood (28) with a delivery that found the edge, before taking the key wickets of Babar Azam (11) and Saud Shakeel (2) in quick succession.
