Pentagon denies report about Elon Musk ‘top-secret’ China briefing, calls out NYT
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell rejected a report in the The New York Times which claimed that billionaire Elon Musk would be briefed about U.S. military plans against China on Friday.
Appearing on Fox & Friends, Parnell invalidated the magazine story while asking the NYT to remove its article.
Pentagon officially rejects The New York Times article
Sean Parnell issued a stern response by labeling the article “garbage” and “completely fake”. Musk's Pentagon meeting would not involve Chinese matters nor cover any war planning, according to him. As per Parnell, the information presented by the New York Times damaged the core purpose of the government’s mission.
The New York Times cited unnamed U.S. officials, who disclosed that top military brass intended to share top secret defense information, along with details about plans for a potential U.S.-China war, to Elon Musk. The report suggested military officials intended to show a slideshow presentation that would present America’s war planning details.
During his interview, Parnell specifically stated that Musk would not participate in any top-secret defense briefings.

“We want a guy like Elon Musk in the Defense Department to help us come up with creative solutions to the problems that we face today. But this article — this article is ridiculous. It’s fake. And I say it on the record,” Parnell
