Narendra Modi underscored the growing significance of technology in creating new avenues of employment, checking corruption, promoting ease of living, improving credibility and decreasing complexities. He stated that there is record investment in the country today and sectors from renewable energy and organic farming to defence and tourism have seen a spurt in job creation.
Modi distributed virtually employment letters to 51,000 people at a Rozgar Mela on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, «Today, amidst challenges in the global economies, India's GDP is growing rapidly. There has been a tremendous increase in both our production and exports.
The country is making record investment today in its modern infrastructure for the first time. New sectors are expanding in the country.
Today, unprecedented growth is being seen in various sectors including renewable energy, organic farming, defence and tourism.»
The prime minister maintained that India is increasingly become atmanirbhar in sectors from manufacturing of mobile phones to building aircraft carrier, Covid vaccine, fighter jets and so on.
«It is believed that by 2025, India's space economy alone will grow to more than Rs 60,000 Crore. That is, today new opportunities and employment prospects are continuously being created for the youth of the country,» he said.
Modi exhorted the youth to harness technology at their workplace and find new ways to improve governance with its help.
«You have to see how you can further improve the efficiency in your respective areas through technology,» he said.
