Narendra Modi has asked his ministers to expedite work of ongoing projects and have them completed by the next Republic Day. Addressing the entire Union Council of Ministers at a meeting held for the first time at ITPO complex in New Delhi's Pragati Maidan on Monday, Modi asked his colleagues to inform people about the work done so far, according to people in government. The G20 summit will be held at the same venue later this year.
«A fruitful meeting with the council of ministers, where we exchanged views on diverse policy-related issues,» Modi tweeted after the meeting. Several presentations were made at the meeting, including one on India's likely development journey till 2047. Three presentations were made, including on infrastructure and Modi's recent foreign visit.
During the meeting, Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Prahlad Singh Patel also spoke. Modi holds a meeting of his Council of Ministers at regular intervals and discusses issues related to governance and suggests good practices for making their offices more productive. Monday's meeting was keenly watched in political circles as it came amid buzz about a Cabinet reshuffle.
