jubilant BJP workers at the party headquarters here, Modi said the “hat-trick” of wins in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh is a vote for “sabka saath, sabka vikas” and assured that all guarantees made by the party will be fulfilled.
He said the results “guarantee” victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, but added the party cadre should not become complacent and continue to reach out to the people. Thanking the people of the three states and underlining the growing support to BJP in Telangana, Modi cautioned people against forces that seek to divide the country on community lines.
He said he would rather focus on women, youth, farmers and the poor that make up “a significant part of our OBCs and tribals”.
“The country will be strengthened by empowering them,” he said. “Today every poor, deprived person, every farmer, tribal and youth is saying he has won. The first-time voter is saying his vote has won.
Every woman feels she has won. This is a victory for their future.”
The prime minister mentioned passage of the women’s reservation bill, the opening of bank accounts, tap water to every home, electricity, toilets under Swachh Bharat and other welfare schemes, insisting these have elevated the status and ease of living of women. The government is also striving to increase their participation in politics, he added.
“I assure you that all the promises made during the elections will be fulfilled. This is Modi’s guarantee. And also a guarantee of fulfilment of these guarantees,” he said.
The prime minister also reached out to the youth, asserting that any government which has worked against their interest has faced the consequences.
