Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar urged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday to provide a copy of the Vedas to each Member of Parliament. Dhankhar also proposed that each member then take it upon themselves to distribute a hundred copies of the ancient scriptures to others.
Pradhan embraced the suggestion, confirming that the copies of the Vedas would be made accessible to fellow parliamentarians. He also mentioned the potential for providing translations into various Indian languages, thereby enhancing accessibility.
During the Rajya Sabha's Question Hour, when Pradhan was addressing queries related to Vedic schools, Dhankhar articulated, "… it would be highly commendable if you could facilitate the provision of a set of Vedas to the esteemed Members of Parliament." Pradhan endorsed the directive of the Chairman, assuring its prompt implementation. Inquisitive members raised inquiries concerning the language in which the Vedas would be shared.
