The fully electric motorcycle — available for retail in the spring of 2026 — will be priced at a premium to electric scooters available in the market today. The company is yet to decide on the country in which it will launch the vehicle sometime in the next fiscal year, but said it will be the first of many products which will be introduced under the Flying Flea brand.
Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Eicher Motors, said, “We believe in this as a starting point of a family, that is going to grow. We are going to keep at it as we go doggedly…keep evolving, keep changing but with this concept and idea in mind." The company will also introduce EVs under Royal Enfield brand, Lal clarified.
Lal said the company has 28 patents for the electric motorcycle, batteries and motors for which have been designed internally. The cells for the battery though will be sourced by Royal Enfield.
“This is a significant step in our evolution as a brand and an opportunity for us to distil the essence of Royal Enfield DNA combined with all the great benefits of EV technology and bring something absolutely delightful and differentiated to the world of city-plus mobility”, Lal informed.
