Superpower' will make its debut on Ukrainian TV on Monday. It shows the Russian invasion of Ukraine and how the small country fights back. Directed by Hollywood actor and activist Penn and Aaron Kaufman, it shows Penn conducting intimate interviews with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and others. Sean Penn took seven trips to Ukraine to shoot these interviews and other sequences.
The Fifth Season film, 'Superpower', will premiere the same day on Ukrainian broadcaster Inter. It will be available for live streaming in the U.S. on Paramount+. It will be available for other Ukranian channels NTN, Mega, and Sonce as well.
Vice Studios and Projected Picture Works have produced the film, but the producers' credit has been given also to Penn, Billy Smith, Sergei Bespalov and Danny Gabai, and Lauren Terp.
Kate Ward, Katie Peck, Hozefa Lokhandwala, Subrata De, Andrew Freston, Susan Zirinsky, Terence Wrong, Anthony Gudas, Bruce Dixon, Chad A. Verdi and Sasha Cherniavsky are executive producers of the film. Fifth Season has financed the movie, they are also handling global distribution.
