Salaar’, and Ranbir Kapoor’s gangster drama ‘Animal’ have been postponed due to production delays.
‘Salaar Part 1-Ceasefire’ was earlier scheduled to be released on September 28, but has now been postponed due to several hiccups in the post-production process, especially VFX delivery.
According to anETimes report, the non-delivery of more than 300 VFX shots was the reason why the movie’s release date has been pushed further.
As per Dainik Bhaskar, the ‘Salaar’ team was so overburdened that they struggled to put the finishing touches to the scenes. 300 shots had to be cross-checked, but due to the lack of time, it could not be completed.
There were also reports that the distributors were not happy with the producers for demanding an exorbitant amount for the rights of the film.
The producers of ‘Salaar’, Hombale films (which also bankrolled the Kannada blockbuster ‘Kantara’), put out an official statement, apologising for the delay and promising the fans an exemplary cinematic experience. “We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we're committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course,” reads the statement.
The ETimes report speculated that the movie may hit the theatres on November 10, and 24.
Helmed by Prashanth Neel, ‘Saalar’ also features Mollywood star Prithviraj Sukumaran along with Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, and others.
