Bollywood superstars, turned 59 on Saturday. Along with his legion of fans, The Academy also celebrated Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday by sharing a clip from the superstar’s 2001 blockbuster ‘Kabhie Khushie Kabhie Gham.’ The video, which was shared on Instagram, showcased the iconic entry scene of Khan’s character, Rahul Raichand. Accompanied by the title song, the video shows Rahul descending from a helicopter to reunite with his mother Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) after returning from abroad.
Nandini, poised to greet her husband Yash Raichand (portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan) with an aarti thali, suddenly redirects her focus. Just then, Shah Rukh Khan, clad entirely in black, races toward the home. Nandini hesitates, her instincts clouded with uncertainty, but soon catches sight of him. Khan responds to her presence with a warm smile and a recognizable gesture, inquiring in Hindi how she seems to sense his arrival.
Nandini, tears in her eyes, smiles as she applies a tilak to his forehead and gently caresses his face. The Academy aptly described this moment in their caption: «A mother's intuition is always right (sic).» Additionally, they posed a question in the comments, asking, «Is this SRK’s most iconic entry scene?»
