Shakira set the stage on fire as she performed “Acróstico” at the star-studded 2023 Latin Grammys, which was held at Seville, Spain on Thursday.
Donning a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana golden dress, the singer performed the song — an heartfelt open letter to her children, Milan and Sasha — which was also nominated as song of the year at awards show.
The performance of the Colombian sensation commenced on an intimate stage adorned with mirrors and ethereal lighting. Progressing towards a piano-accompanied stage, a heartfelt video featuring her two sons singing lyrics from the song was played.
Milan and Sasha, both present in the audience, enthusiastically cheered on their mother from their seats.
This poignant rendition of «Acróstico» unfolded after Shakira secured her initial victory of the evening for the best pop song, a well-deserved recognition for her collaboration with Bizarrap on «Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.»
“I want to share this Grammy with my colleagues with whom I have had the pleasure of working and learning,” the pop icon said in her acceptance speech.
“With my Latin audience in Spain, in Colombia, in the United States, in Latin America. The Latin public that has taken me to the highest heights, those places I dreamed of since I was a child and to whom I owe everything.
I also want to share this with my Spanish public who has been with me through thick and thin … who have never stopped giving me love and support for a single day. I will never forget that.
