The NSE Nifty index traded 70.8 points down at 22231.7, while BSE Sensex was down 278.28 points at 73233.57 as of 11:10AM(IST)on May 08.
In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.08 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.91 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.18 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.00 per cent) were among the top gainers.
