The NSE Nifty index ended the session 126.0 points down at 24340.85, while BSE Sensex 426.85 points to 79942.18.
In the Nifty index, Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 4.24 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.09 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.55 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 2.03 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.91 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
