The NSE Nifty index ended the session 181.11 points up at 24457.15, while BSE Sensex 597.67 points to 80845.75.
In the Nifty index, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 6.00 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.59 per cent), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 2.25 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 2.10 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
