The NSE Nifty index was trading 84.16 points down at 22218.35, while BSE Sensex was down 327.19 points at 73184.66 at the time of writing this report.
In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.10 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.
