Taking to Instagram, Ghoshal shared a statement regarding the breach. She wrote, «Hello fans and friends. My Twitter/X account has been hacked since February 13th. I have tried everything in my capacity to reach out to the X team. But there has been no response beyond a few auto-generated responses. I am unable to even delete my account since I can't log in anymore. Please don't click on any link or believe any message written from that account. They are all spam and phishing links. I will update personally through a video if the account is recovered and is safe.»
The singer’s statement comes as a strong warning to her followers, urging them to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to any fraudulent links or messages originating from her compromised account. She reassured her fans that any future updates regarding the account’s recovery would be shared through her official and verified platforms.
Past Celebrity Cyber Attacks: A Growing Concern
Shreya Ghoshal is not the first celebrity to face such a cybersecurity breach. Earlier this year, actor Swara Bhasker and comedian Tanmay Bhat also reported similar incidents, where their X accounts were hacked and used to spread spam and phishing links.
