Slamball, the thrilling fusion of basketball, football, gymnastics, and hockey, is set to make a long-awaited return after nearly 15 years. In Las Vegas, eight teams will compete over four weeks for the Series 6 title, with ESPN broadcasting every exhilarating game.
What is Slamball?Slamball is a thrilling game that blends basketball with trampolines, allowing players to soar up to 20 feet in the air for gravity-defying slam dunks. It incorporates physicality from football and hockey, with players challenging each other at the rim and blocking dunks. The court features barriers like in hockey, and substitutions are made using hockey-style line changes. Played in four quarters of five minutes each with a four-on-four matchup. Players can accomplish jaw-dropping exploits and dunks on the trampolines that are put up on either side of the playing surface. There are marked 3-point and 4-point lines, and slam dunks and jump shots score three and two points, respectively.
Positions for slam ballThere are three positions in Slamball: Handler: The primary ball handler who orchestrates the offense and sets up teammates for dunks, similar to a point guard in basketball. Gunner: The primary scorer who attacks the rim for high-flying dunks, comparable to a forward or striker in soccer. Stopper: The primary defensive player who protects the rim and acts as a goalie in hockey or soccer.
