During an interview with O2 India, Sonu was asked about his experience working on the song «Shano Shano» from the 2008 film. He admitted that he didn’t think highly of the track, describing it as “pretty average” and suggesting they not discuss it further.
“I won’t be able to lie. I won’t be able to praise a bad song,” Sonu said, revealing his disinterest in the track. When pressed about the other songs he recorded for the film, Sonu remarked, “Voh bhool jaiye aap. Iske saare gaane bekaar the,” meaning «Just forget about it. All the songs were bad.»
While Yuvvraaj did not perform well at the box office, the soundtrack, composed by AR Rahman, had received praise from many music enthusiasts. However, Sonu’s frank comments have sparked discussion about the album’s quality.
Sonu Nigam has worked with AR Rahman on several major soundtracks, including Dil Se, Saathiya, and Taal. Despite their successful collaborations, the singer did not hesitate to voice his dissatisfaction with Yuvvraaj.
