Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls
Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(up 7.23%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 1.42%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(up 1.25%), Marico Ltd.(up 0.88%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 0.62%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.37%) and Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 0.04%) stood among the top gainers.
Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd.(down 6.31%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 6.09%), ADF Foods Ltd.(down 5.55%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(down 4.95%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 4.92%), Future Consumer Ltd.(down 4.55%), LT Foods Ltd.(down 4.20%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 3.76%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(down 2.76%) and Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 2.50%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 166.46 points down at 21616.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 523.0 points at 71072.49.
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.89%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.41%), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.25%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.23%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.16%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.86%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.81%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.65%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.6%) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.58%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 4.51%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 3.89%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 3.61%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.77%), NTPC Ltd.(down 2.7%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.64%), ITC Ltd.(down 2.09%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.89%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.75%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.5%) closed in the red.
