Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

Dodla Dairy(up 3.42%), Hindustan Foods(up 2.76%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.57%), Varun Beverages(up 1.09%), Britannia Industries(up 0.69%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.26%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.15%) and Marico(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers.
Euro India Fresh Foods(down 3.86%), ADF Foods(down 3.58%), Emami(down 3.27%), Umang Dairies(down 2.37%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.91%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 1.86%), Parag Milk(down 1.62%), Gillette India(down 1.43%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.25%) and Heritage Foods(down 1.13%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 159.05 points down at 19742.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 570.6 points at 66230.24.

Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.95%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.92%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.79%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.77%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 0.76%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.68%), UPL Ltd.(up 0.4%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.36%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 3.1%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 2.82%), Cipla Ltd.(down 2.68%), State Bank of India(down 2.15%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.02%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.98%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.88%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.88%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.79%) and Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.74%) closed in the red.
