Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

Sheetal Cool Products(up 4.86%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 2.74%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.73%), Gillette India(up 1.59%), Patanjali Foods(up 1.15%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.01%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.53%), Dangee Dums(up 0.52%), Heritage Foods(up 0.50%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.47%) stood among the top gainers.
Marico(down 4.98%), Nakoda Group(down 3.23%), Vadilal Industries(down 3.13%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.83%), Umang Dairies(down 2.20%), Emami(down 1.53%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.42%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.40%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.02%) and Prataap Snacks(down 0.86%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 109.65 points up at 19545.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 405.53 points at 65631.57.
Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 2.25%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.87%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.57%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.45%), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.32%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.25%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.16%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.14%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.04%) and State Bank of India(up 1.0%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.2%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.6%), NTPC Ltd.(down 0.55%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.52%), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.5%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.41%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.33%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.3%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 0.3%) and Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.29%) closed in the red.
