Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

Parag Milk(up 5.00%), Heritage Foods(up 3.78%), Dodla Dairy(up 2.97%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.38%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.32%), Umang Dairies(up 1.20%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 1.07%), Nestle India(up 0.94%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.92%) and Varun Beverages(up 0.81%) stood among the top gainers.
ADF Foods(down 3.26%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 2.52%), Dangee Dums(down 1.81%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.43%), Bikaji Foods International(down 0.64%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.58%), Gillette India(down 0.35%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.19%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.08%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.08%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 79.75 points up at 19811.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 261.16 points at 66428.09.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.14%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.01%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.97%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.86%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.73%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.27%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.24%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.09%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.02%) and ITC Ltd.(up 1.0%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.57%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.14%), UPL Ltd.(down 0.95%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.71%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.48%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.23%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.16%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.08%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.08%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 0.06%) closed in the red.
