Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

Aro Granite Industries(up 4.91%), Ashapura Minechem(up 4.22%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores(up 2.83%), Lexus Granito(up 1.13%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.98%) and Coal India(up 0.24%) stood among the top gainers.
20 Microns(down 2.97%), Pokarna(down 2.28%), KIOCL(down 0.68%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.63%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.57%), MOIL(down 0.43%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.19%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 168.3 points up at 20855.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 431.02 points at 69296.14.
Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 16.91%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 15.3%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 4.41%), NTPC Ltd.(up 3.87%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.31%), State Bank of India(up 2.27%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 2.24%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.76%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.63%) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.15%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.6%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.52%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.5%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.49%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.04%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.99%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.78%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.76%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 0.75%) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.71%) closed in the red.
