Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

20 Microns Ltd.(up 5.87%), NMDC Ltd.(up 5.74%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 5.00%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 3.50%), MOIL Ltd.(up 2.51%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 2.34%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.53%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.14%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 0.71%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.66%) stood among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 1.98%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.94%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.73%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 34.41 points up at 22402.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 114.49 points at 73852.94.
Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.98%), Cipla Ltd.(up 3.83%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 3.69%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.74%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.77%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.65%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.43%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.32%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.3%) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.2%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 5.39%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.37%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.22%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.16%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.13%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.13%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.81%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.71%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.67%) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.64%) closed in the red.
