Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises
Aro Granite Industries(up 14.22%), MOIL(up 5.72%), Ashapura Minechem(up 5.05%), Lexus Granito(up 1.79%), Coal India(up 1.61%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.61%), Pokarna(up 0.19%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.09%) stood among the top gainers. KIOCL(down 2.32%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.89%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.70%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 135.35 points up at 19517.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 480.57 points at 65721.25. Cipla(up 3.77%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.31%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.84%), Wipro(up 2.3%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.06%), Axis Bank(up 1.79%), HCL Technologies(up 1.67%), Coal India(up 1.61%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.5%) and LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.46%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
