Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.66% in an upbeat market
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 4.55 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.66 per cent at 18072.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 111.75 points at 21553.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 411.95 points at 71748.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, Reliance Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
