Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.61% in an upbeat market
Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.17 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.96 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.48 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.
TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.61 per cent at 18462.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 125.1 points at 21638.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 429.14 points at 71784.36.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Trident Ltd, Alok Industries, YES Bank and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Pavna Industries, Pondy Oxides, Apollo Sindoori, IRB Infra Dev. and PNB Gilts hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SKS Textiles, Raj Rayon, Muthoot Microfin, Gandhar Oil Refinery and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
