Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.94%
Shares of HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.93 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.03 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.0 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.07 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.94 per cent up at 48158.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 202.91 points at 22097.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 759.49 points at 73327.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Infibeam Avenues and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Dredging Corp, Tera Software, Tourism Finance, Dhanlaxmi Bank and SBC Exports hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while M K Proteins, Digidrive Distributo, SKS Textiles, Raj Rayon and Happy Forgings hit their fresh 52-week lows.
