Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.35%

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.35 per cent up at 25941.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 187.45 points at 25010.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 611.9 points at 81698.11.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank, Alok Industries and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of CESC Ventures, Uma Exports, Oriental Trimex, Panacea Biotec and Jet Freight Logistic hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Debock Sales & Mktg, Future Supply Chain, Saraswati Saree Depo, Filatex Fashions and Rubfila Intnl hit their fresh 52-week lows.
