Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.11% in an upbeat market

TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.11 per cent at 25558.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 42.21 points at 24812.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 122.77 points at 81028.07.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
Shares of Reliance Power, RattanIndia Power, Vodafone Idea, Zomato and Ola Electric Mobilit were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Gujarat Apollo, Transport Corp, Palash Securities, Shyam Metalics and Rane Eng Valve hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Saraswati Saree Depo, Mask Investments, Globe Textiles(India), Diligent Media Corp and Kridhan Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
