Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.33%

Shares of MRF(up 4.04 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.51 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.83 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.46 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 2.37 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.01 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.77 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.64 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.33 per cent down at 15328.4. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 135.35 points at 19517.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 480.57 points at 65721.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red. Shares of Zomato, Reliance Power, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
