Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.81%
Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 2.57 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.2 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.61 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.33 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.81 per cent up at 47965.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 117.75 points at 22474.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 408.86 points at 74085.99.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Motherson Sumi, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tata Chemicals, Welspun Invst, Dollar Industries, Cambridge Tech and Laxmi Goldorna House hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while IIFL Finance, Lords Chloro, Agro Tech Foods, Credo Brands Marketi and GPT Healthcare hit their fresh 52-week lows.
