Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.87% in an upbeat market
Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.78 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.45 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.48 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.87 per cent at 52153.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.06 points at 23601.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 251.67 points at 77592.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Hind Const Co, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Somi Conveyor, AmaraRaja Batteries, Naga Dhunseri Group, PNB Gilts and Sandesh Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, We Win, Eurotex Ind, Filatex Fashions and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
