Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.17% in an upbeat market

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.62 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.8 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.86 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.17 per cent at 20566.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 215.3 points at 24531.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 587.46 points at 80484.8.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Renewable, IRFC, YES Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of AMJ Land Holdings, HPL Electric Power, Career Point, Essar Shipping and Railtel Corp hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, Praxis Home Retail, JP Associates, Shyam Telecom and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
