Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.86% in an upbeat market

Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 3.83 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.81 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 2.8 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.63 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 3.36 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.86 per cent at 21497.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 244.31 points at 24650.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 669.8 points at 80709.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, MMTC, SJVN, YES Bank and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kothari Prod, GHCL Textiles, IL&FS Invest, Ion Exchange and Mindteck India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nandani Creation, GIR Natureview, IndInfravit Trust, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Sri Adhikari hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
